Personal Story: Why I’m Drawn to Finance, Business, Entrepreneurship, and Psychology
Updated: Nov 4, 2025
From an early age, I was fascinated by the way people make decisions and how these choices shape not only individual lives but entire economies and markets. This curiosity naturally led me to explore three interconnected fields: finance, business, and psychology.
Finance attracted me because it helps measure value and risk, providing a clear way to understand how money is generated, saved, and invested. It employs precise numbers and thoughtful analysis to explain complex financial systems and everyday financial decisions. Additionally, I learned that behind every financial decision, there are real people with feelings and thoughts that influence their actions. Since my family has a background in finance, I grew up seeing how important and interesting this field can be firsthand.
Business interests me because it is where ideas become a reality. It is a place where creativity meets planning and leading. I enjoy learning about markets, what customers want, and how to use resources well. Business is not only about money or deals; it is about people working together to create value, make a difference, and build lasting companies.
Psychology helps explain why consumers make certain financial choices, how cognitive biases affect investment and market decisions, and what drives success. The connection lies in applying psychological principles to anticipate market behavior, develop strategic business practices, and create financial products that meet human needs.
For example, behavioral economics blends psychology with finance by studying how psychological factors impact economic decisions, going beyond classical economics’ rational models. In business, psychological insights aid in leadership, negotiation, marketing, and customer relations. One’s interest in psychology enriches their finance and business pursuits by equipping them with tools to understand the underlying human factors influencing economic activities.
Above all, the intersection of finance, business, and psychology offers a powerful lens for understanding the world, one that balances logic with empathy, numbers with narratives, and strategy with human insight. It is through this blend that I aspire to shape decisions that are not only financially sound but also psychologically informed and socially impactful. By integrating analytical precision with an understanding of human behavior, I hope to contribute to a future where markets, businesses, and communities grow not just in wealth, but in wisdom and well-being.
